Nai Yang Beach is located near the island’s airport and neighbors two other beaches - Mai Khao and Naithon. Despite being close to the international airport, this is one of the most peaceful places on the island!
The northern part of the beach is rarely visited by tourists, as it has been taken over by locals. Thais often come here for picnics, especially in the evenings and on weekends. The water is great for kids to swim in—it has a very gentle entry. There are no sunbeds or umbrellas in this area at all.
Right after sunset, it becomes very dark here—there is no street lighting. If you plan to stay until night, be sure to bring a flashlight. Even if you see well in the dark, it will be useful to scare away snakes. For the same reason, we recommend making noise while walking.
The center of the beach has the most developed infrastructure. Here, you will find cafes, restaurants, sun loungers, and umbrellas—everything a proper tourist in Thailand might need. Even in peak season, there aren't too many people, so there's plenty of space for everyone.
In the southern part of Nai Yang, you can feel like a real Robinson Crusoe. There isn't even asphalt here—the road is just gravel. The area looks similar to the northern part, but for some reason, Thais do not come here. The whole day, there is absolutely no one around.
By the way, nature here is simply amazing—lush green trees, a small stream, and beautiful ocean waves. So, if you have at least a moped and are looking for peace, this is the perfect place for you!
The ocean—that’s why people come to Thailand. Visiting Phuket and not swimming in the Andaman Sea is simply unthinkable, and in this regard, Nai Yang exceeds all expectations.
This beach never has waves. That’s because there are breakwaters on both sides of the beach, preventing the rough Andaman Sea from reaching the shore. Because of this, the water here is completely calm, even during strong winds.
The entry into the water is slow and gentle, which is especially noticeable during low tide. For example, in the center, even after walking ten meters, an adult will still be only waist-deep, making Nai Yang perfect for families with children.
Sun loungers and umbrellas are available in the center of the beach. There are plenty of them, so no matter what time you arrive, you won’t be left without comfort. The cost of one lounger is about 100 baht. This is the price for the whole day, so even if you rent one in the evening, you won’t save any money.
You can find shade not only under umbrellas. A little further from the beach, there is a wide strip of tropical trees that will reliably protect you from the sun. But always use sunscreen! Light-skinned Europeans can get serious burns in just a few minutes.
Beach workers carefully monitor cleanliness. They also occasionally offer drinks, ice cream, and sliced fruit. Fortunately, there are hardly any pushy vendors selling clothes and other goods.
Essentially, Nai Yang is a modest fishing village, so there are no nightclubs, huge supermarkets, or markets. However, everything needed for a comfortable stay is here. Compared to the crowded Patong, prices are higher, but it's worth it. Plus, you can buy food at the store and fruits at a small local market.
If needed, money can be exchanged in three places: • The exchange office near Nai Yang Beach Resort & Spa • A shop located near the exchange office • An exchange point in the lower part of a guesthouse on the main street.
Near the beach, you can find two small shops where you can buy food, along with a few stalls selling beachwear. Near the exchange office and the hotel, there is a store with handmade mats, scarves, and other souvenirs. Prices are quite high, but the items are of excellent quality.
Despite the beach stretching for nearly 1.5 kilometers, the choice of hotels is not very large. Most of them are concentrated in the central part of Nai Yang Beach.
If you want to relax in comfort, we recommend Phuket Marriott Resort & Spa. A more affordable option is L'esprit de Nai Yang Beach Resort. Both hotels offer excellent rooms, great staff, and cozy villas.
For mid-range tourists, Nai Yang Beach Resort & Spa is a good option. Fortunately, it is located right in the central part of the beach, so there will be no problems with infrastructure.
If you're looking for the perfect holiday without noisy parties and shopping, then Nai Yang is just for you. A quiet and cozy beach will delight you with impeccable conditions and total tranquility.
The infrastructure is not well-developed, with few shops and restaurants within walking distance. However, it is perfect for those who prefer secluded relaxation.
The beach is located 5-10 minutes from the airport, making it popular among tourists who are about to fly out. The beach is not crowded, but the infrastructure is not very developed. Many come here to visit the national park.
It is situated in the northwest of Phuket, far from the popular tourist beaches. The travel time to Phuket Town or Patong is a little over 1 hour. To the southern part of the island (Rawai, Nai Harn), it takes about 1 hour and 30 minutes. From the airport, it is about a 10-minute drive.
