Ao Yon Waterfall is located near Cape Panwa in the southeastern part of Phuket. It is not a popular tourist spot and is difficult to find on maps with waterfalls. Therefore, it is an ideal place for those who love solitude.
Ao Yon is a two-tiered waterfall in the heart of the jungle. There are usually few people here, especially during the high season, as the lack of rain makes it more like a pile of rocks. The waterfall looks beautiful during the rainy season when streams of water flow over the rocks. All of this, framed by dense vegetation against the backdrop of unfriendly cliffs, looks mystical and textured.
Ao Yon in Phuket can be visited at any time and is completely free. This area is not part of a natural park or a protected zone. It is also not popular among tourists.
- The path to Ao Yon Waterfall is not difficult, but good and comfortable shoes are a must. Along the way, you may encounter slippery rocks or mud, as the journey passes through real jungle.
- The waterfall has several small terraces. If you wish, you can take a dip in them, as there is no wildlife here except for small fish.
- It is better to plan a visit to this waterfall between July and October. During dry weather, there is nothing to do here, as the area is not impressive at all.
- Not far from the waterfall is a beach. It is small, surrounded by trees, and offers a chance to immerse yourself in the completely clear, warm, and calm sea water. There is no wind or waves here, so if you make it to the waterfall, be sure to go to the beach as well.
- On weekends, many locals come to the waterfall, so it is more comfortable to visit on a weekday.

Finding the waterfall is quite simple, just plot a route through Google Maps and follow the directions. The road will take you directly to the parking lot, from which it is just a couple of minutes' walk to the waterfall.
