E-tickets Required for Marine National Parks in Thailand from October 15, 2025 🌊

Thailand is introducing a major update for travelers. From October 15, 2025, entry to six marine national parks in Southern Thailand, including the world-famous Phi Phi Islands and Similan Islands, will only be possible with a pre-booked electronic ticket (e-ticket). 🌴

Which parks are included?

  • Hat Noppharat Thara – Mu Ko Phi Phi (Maya Bay)
  • Ao Phang Nga (Phang Nga Bay)
  • Than Bok Khorani
  • Mu Ko Similan (Similan Islands)
  • Mu Ko Surin (Surin Islands)
  • Mu Ko Lanta

How does the e-ticket system work?

When booking an e-ticket, tourists must provide their passport number. Tickets need to be purchased in advance, before visiting the park. Official ticket prices have not yet been announced but are expected to follow the current foreigner and local rates. 🐠

Why this change?

  • Protecting the Andaman Sea’s fragile ecosystem
  • Controlling visitor numbers
  • Improving convenience and safety for tourists

What tourists in Phuket should know

If you are planning to visit Phi Phi, Similan, Maya Bay or other marine parks after October 15, 2025, you must book your e-ticket in advance. Without it, entry will not be allowed. ⛵

Tip: Book tickets early via official Department of National Parks (DNP) platforms or licensed tour operators to avoid delays and last-minute issues. ✅
